Shaker screen packages including internal and external package. For different shaker screen, the packages vary.

Screen panel types

There are many different types of shaker screen panel. Including framed type and hook strip type. Frame or hook strip type screen including flat and corrugation panel. Frame type screen is the screen cloth on a steel frame. We weld punched sheet and steel tube together and put wire mesh cloth on the structure. Then they  become shaker screen panel

For hook strip type, we put punched sheet and wire mesh cloth together and fold up the strip side. According to clients' requirements, we make corrugation or not.

Besides above metal type panels, there are composite and polyurethane screen, too. But there is no corrugation polyurethane screen panel.

 

Shaker screen packages

Usually we pack frame type screen as one panel per carton. For the hook strip screen, we pack two panels in one carton box. No matter it is flat panel or with peaks. We put cardboard on screen panel top to protect the screen surface

And for external package, we put 10-25 cartons into plywood case or onto the plywood pallet. If put screens into cases we'll put a film before laying cartons. If we put screens onto pallets, we'll wrap all  pallets completely with film

External packages are with legs for fork lift or pallet truck. According to quantity of screens under certain order, we pack different numbers of screen per package. For example, some clients order 3000 panels of replacement Cobra screen, we pack 30 panels per case

We also consider the container size and loading volume to pack the screens. This will help to use the container most effective and properly

We pack screens as per screen type, quantity and the container size. We consider the shipment method, such as by sea, by train, or by air.

Screen panels are the part of shale shaker or hydrocyclone separators, mud cleaner. They are filter plates for solid removal. What is difference among them?

Screen panels for shaker

In solids control system, shale shaker is the first phase equipment to remove drilled cuttings or solid particles. Screen panels are the direct filtration material on shakers. The screens vary for different designed shaker. Such as the pre-tensioned framed shaker screen panel, the hook strap screen, and so on

The screen mesh size will be coarse, relatively to screens on further equipment. Kindly suggest screen openings equal or coarser than API120. We know, based on theory, shale shaker will filter solid larger than 100microns out of drilling fluid. And cater for flow rate demand, the screen panels should not be too fine

Shaker screen on hydrocyclone separators

Hydrocyclone separators including the desander, desilter. Desander is used to separate particles larger than 45 microns, while desilter get rid of solid larger than 15 microns. They are the 2nd and 3rd phase solids control equipment

For desander and desilter, if we design downstream shaker screen we can configure mini bottom shaker or the commonly sized shakers. Difference including screen area and installation way. The screens can be downside tension or the common screen panels

Downstream shaker screen for mud cleaner

Mud cleaner is also referred as mud conditioner or 3 in 1 for drilling mud solids control. It's integration of hydrocyclone desander, desilter and shale shaker. There is only one difference between downstream screen and shaker screen, the mesh size

We know shale shaker for solids control request coarse separation. Mud cleaner is used to remove much finer solids. Thus the downstream screen should be selected much finer. Kindly suggest API 200 or smaller opening. Then mud cleaner will help us make disposal more dry and separate the particles as more as possible after separated by cones and previous equipment

Shale shaker screens technology reflected on many different aspect. Such as screen frame, wire mesh cloth, material and appearance, etc. We know there are different types screen frame. Both on material and holes. What is the principle/technology and what is future tendency?

Screen frame technology

Manufacturers use different shapes for shaker screen panels to attempt to reduce the quantity of panels on each frame while still providing maximum rigidity and support for the attached wire mesh or screen cloth. The purpose of reducing these panels is to maximize the usable screening area, as the walls of each panel can obstruct the mesh, preventing its use; this is known as "blanking."

The non-blanked screening area of shaker screens is widely used as a selling feature, the more screen surface you have available to work the more efficient your shaker becomes and therefore can handle a higher quantity of fluid. This is an important issue affecting users' selection on screens

Binding technique decides shale shaker screen adhesive force on screen frame. If the binding technique is poor the screen will be broken very soon since the cuttings will abrade wire mesh via the distance. And under the vibration of shaker, the screen cloth is easier to peel off from the structure than staying steadily without operation.

The binding agent, designed to maximize adhesion to both materials while withstanding high heat, strong vibration, abrasive cuttings, and corrosive drilling fluids, is the material used to bind the mesh to the screen frame.

Plastic or composite shaker screens tend not to use adhesives but rather heat the mesh and melt it into the screen frame to form a bond. Great bond of composite screens will be stronger than steel frame screen binding

3D shaker screen technology

3D Screen Technology- One of the more recent advances in oilfield screen technology has brought us the "3D screen", this technology is an innovative method for increasing the screening area of a shale shaker without the need to build larger, heavier and more expensive shakers. It has been the advanced tendency in shaker screen industry past decade.

Generally, manufacturers increase the 3D screen area by 25%. That means the effective area or the non-blanked area is much larger. So the handling capacity is much higher. And it helps to get better filtration result but less mud loss possibility.

Manufacturers design the wave-like shapes on these screens, resembling corrugated cardboard when viewed from the side, to increase the surface area of the panel without requiring larger machines.

The innovator is Derrick Corp of USA. Such 3D shaker screen technology got most users' appreciation. Various claims exist regarding the reason for the improved performance of these 3D screens, such as increasing the screening area of each panel, which distributes the load across more surface area and therefore tends to decrease wear compared to other types of shaker screens.
