Solids control shaker is the first stage separation equipment for oil drilling mud solids control. Utilized vibrator motor to generate vibration strength. The vibrating strength drives the drilling fluids to go through the shale shaker. When the drilling mud goes through the shaker screen, clean mud will flow into mud tank. Not allowable larger solids will “no pass” the screen surface and be discharged.
What are functions of solids control shaker
For most popular shale shaker:
1) Linear motion shale shaker. It is the most common shaker model for oil and gas drilling solids control; Linear motion shaker is especially suitable for the early drill depth of oil well
2) Balanced elliptical motion shale shaker. It is more suitable for dryer drilling fluid with slower velocity. And the BEM shaker is more powerful for the drilling mud recovery.

Separation Size of Solids Control Shale Shaker
Separation size of shale shaker depends on shaker screen size. We call it API size or mesh size. But usually, the shaker separation point is over 100microns. Then we’ll use the desander, desilter, etc. Under D100 separation API size is from API 6 to API 500. Based on API RP13C standard. In oilfield solids control the popular size is from API 20-API 325.
Based on calculation of API shaker screen size, the shale shaker can separate particles size min. 40μm (at API 325 shaker screen)
If you do not need to separate solids so fine, you can choose more coarse shaker screen, like 800μm.
The common screen API size for shale shaker is API60, API80, API100, API120. Users can choose the suitable size per drilling mud condition.
AWD Angle Adjustment System for Aipu Shale Shaker
Aipu AWD angle adjustment system for Hunter shale shaker is synchronized change for both sides. The angle adjustment is the same for both sides. Both Hunter MG series and Hunter D series shaker are equipped with AWD unit. It can be hydraulic or mechanical type.
AWD angle adjustment is set on vibration beam middle. Or we set it on either front side. It’s easy to operate when shaker is driving.
